I've already admitted
it... I have this thing for maps. So it will be of no surprise that I really think that a lot of "entities" are completely missing out on some great opportunities by not using them.
So much of the information that we consume every day has some bearing in the real physical world... but the publisher completely ignores that link... and thus fails to convert a passive viewing experience into an interactive opportunity.
I think the culprits that bother me the most are magazines that attempt to push people from paper to their online worlds. They want you to go online... and then just offer up the same article that you just read. Where's the motivation there?
Actually, the most frustrating part of it all is knowing how simple it is to incorporate maps and other spatial / location info... and then seeing that nobody is tackling it.
