Every time I look to make changes and tweaks to the site I try to take into account a number of items... one of which is how the site looks at different screen display sizes.  When I first started searching for this type of information (several years ago) I always ran across comments about how designers shouldn't forget about those with 800x600 displays.  When I looked at the stats back then I figured that 800x600 was going away and besides, it was too restrictive for what I wanted to do... so I just defaulted to 1024x768... and ignored the poor soul that was still at 800x600.

When I recently checked the stats I started thinking that even 1024x768 was going to be a dinosaur...

I've been a long time user of ACDSee products... starting way back when it was just a quick and easy way to sort through photos and do some simple edits and modifications.  When they introduced a "Pro" version I used it extensively and loved it.  So, when they launched the Pro 3 Beta I started to look forward to when I could take some time and play with it some... and I finally found some of that time.

I've spent the better part of my free time over the past two or three days trying to get rid of the www version of my website.

Why?

Well, one reason is just to do it and learn something... but the primary reason is because things like Google apparently can be mislead into thinking that MarlinCreek.com and www.MarlinCreek.com are two different sites... and that's not really a good thing.

In the end, it seems simple... if you know two things...

I was going back through some vacation photos and culled up a sampling of items from the trip.  These actually span from Norfolk Virginia down to the Outer Banks.

These fall more into the snapshot category... but give some good practice in editing and trying a couple different items.

Eagle Springs

Eagle Springs is a community in the area.  It's a common backdrop for local photographers doing portraits with individuals and groups.  I took a look around one day and can easily understand the draw that it has to photographers... and homeowners.

I ran across a handy Joomla plugin that makes it beyond easy to insert some blocks of code in the article.  It can be used to type code directly into the article or pull the code from the Jumi component.

It's not the most robust and feature rich "code insert" plugin that I've seen... but it is the simplest... and it works...

My brother has said it a couple of times... and it's true.  The cell phone is a fad... one that is well past it's exit cue.
